Juvederm

Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a smooth consistency gel dermal filler that helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).

What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a filler comprised of hylauronic acid which typically lasts 6-12 months. It may be used to instantly smooth out wrinkles and folds to improve facial symmetry.

Who is a candidate for Juvederm?
Men and women who are looking to improve wrinkles, folds, or those seeking a correction in volume deficiencies for a more attractive and balanced facial appearance are good candidates for Juvederm.

Where is the Juvederm procedure performed?
The Juvederm injection is performed at Piedmont Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology Center by Dr. Spencer and our Physician Assistants.

Is anesthesia used for the Juvederm procedure?
A topical numbing cream is used to optimize the patient’s comfort.

How is the Juvederm procedure performed?
The Juvederm is injected directly into the skin using a small needle.

How long is the procedure time for Juvederm?
The Juvederm injection takes less than an hour to perform.

How long do the results of Juvederm last?
Juvederm results last an average of six to twelve months.

When will I be able to return to work after the Juvederm procedure?
Patients are able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after treatment. However, some prefer to wait until the redness and swelling have subsided.

Is the cost of the Juvederm procedure covered by insurance?                                                              Juvederm injections are generally not covered by insurance when performed for cosmetic reasons alone.

 

Restylane and Perlane

Restylane- Restylane is an FDA approved long-lasting gel which adds volume and lift to your lips, facial wrinkles, scars and folds. Restylane® contains hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in the human body. Treatment time is approximately 30 - 45 minutes and you will see immediate results.

What Is Restylane and Perlane?
Restylane and Perlane are safe and natural dermal fillers that restore volume and fullness to the skin and correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

What is Restylane and Perlane made of?
Restylane and Perlane are composed of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

Can Restylane and Perlane be used anywhere on the face?
Restylane and Perlane have been to correct a variety of wrinkles.  They are mainly used in moderation to correct severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.
 
How long does Restylane and Perlane last, and what is the difference?
The effects of Restylane generally lasts 4 - 6 months, and the effects of Perlane generally last 6 - 9 months. Perlane is simply a larger molecule /gel particle used to treat deeper folds.

How is Restylane and Perlane different from Botox®?
Botox is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Restylane and Perlane are natural cosmetic fillers. Many patients have been very pleased after receiving treatment with both products.
